Nominees for this year’s edition of Best of Nollywood Awards (BON) have been announced. They were unveiled at a grand ceremony held at The Dome, Akure, Ondo State on Monday, October 26.
The ceremony had in attendance Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko and members of his executive council as well as Director Generals of ministries and parastatals. Other dignitaries at the event include Miss Global, Tessy Ihomaogbonna; Most Beautiful Girl in Lagos, Lynette Ndukwe; Miss Nigeria (International), Victoria Daropale; Miss Bikini, Edith Hunter and Miss Africa, Imoleayo Anjorin.
Speaking at the event, Governor Mimiko, who said he’s a fan of Nollywood and who unveiled nominees for the Movie of the Year and Director of the Year, promised the best outing for Best of Nollywood Awards in Akure this year.
“I am a fan of Nollywood. I wish I had more time to familiarise with the industry. My advice is that we should be creative in terms of storyline and narrative. Let’s use Nollywood to rebrand Nigeria. Let’s create a new narrative for the country. All what I know is that in December, we’ll have the best of BON Awards ever here in Akure,” he said.
Best of Nollywood Awards will take place in Akure, Ondo State in December.
