Top hip
hop artistes – Davido, Harrysong and Chidinma – were among notable musicians
who thrilled fans during the first ever noiseless party in Nigeria organised by
telecommunications giant, MTN, in Lagos recently.
The event
which was used to launch the company’s new streaming and download service known
as Music+, had the popular DJ Neptune leading other top ‘disc men’ in providing
fans with non-stop entertainment during the show which held at Kings College
Annex, Victoria Island, Lagos. Apart
from being treated to quality music by the array of stars at the show, guests
also had the opportunity of featuring in games like play station, snooker and
table soccer.
The
noiseless party also featured the launch of the Music + theme song which was
formally performed by the quartet of HarrySong, Sound Sultan, Chidinma and
Praiz alongside Immaculate.
A guest
at the show, Simon Olawole, a lucky winner of the key to the party via the
social media contest and participant enthused; “This is absolutely a new
experience! It’s quite ingenious. For MTN to organise a party like this where
everybody is in sync via headphones. I am more than impressed with what I have
experienced tonight.”
Speaking
on the concept of the party, Assistant Manager, Youth Segment Management of
MTN, Joseph Ogbuka, noted the inspiration behind the party was to re-introduce
music+ as the biggest and differentiated subscription based music streaming and
download platform, optimised for mobile and online access.
“The idea
underpinning the concept of this party is to re-introduce Music+ which has been
an absolute game changer in music distribution service in Nigeria and Africa,
in a unique way. Our major target with the Music+ App are music enthusiasts and
fun lovers, hence our decision to organise this party. We aimed to do this
differently, to deviate from the norm because we believe in giving people a
unique experience through our products and services,” he said.
